Greenpeace and Clear the Air found that Hong Kong’s Air Quality Objectives were 2.6 times higher than the European Union’s standards for irrespirable suspended particulates, 1.3 time higher for sulphur dioxide, and 50% higher for nitrogen dioxide. They urged the Government to “stop lying and tell the public the truth”. The EPD, however, said that the objectives were comparable to those of the United States.
