Carbon monoxide (CO) comes mainly from vehicular emissions, although a small amount of which may also come from incomplete combustion of fuels from factories and power stations. [1]

Emission from road transport is the primary source of carbon monoxide which contributed to 82% of total emissions in 2007. The tightening of vehicle emission standards mentioned above helped reduce carbon monoxide emissions. [2]
